Our League Story
We acknowledge that the South Island Flag Football League and players are located on the traditional, stolen lands of the Lək̓ʷəŋən-speaking Peoples, specifically the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations.
The South Island Flag Football League, based in Victoria, BC, has a proud history spanning over 40 years. Originally established in 1984 as the Victoria Women's Flag Football League, we have been a pillar of the local flag football community for decades.

As the sport evolved, so did we. To better reflect our commitment to inclusivity and growth, we rebranded as the South Island Flag Football League—a welcoming space where athletes of all backgrounds can come together to play, compete, and connect. Our league celebrates diversity and inclusion and is dedicated to providing a safe, competitive, and exciting environment for women and genderqueer individuals to showcase their skills and passion for the game.
Flag football is the fastest-growing sport in North America, and our league is at the forefront of this exciting movement. We welcome players of all skill levels, from ages 16 to 50+, creating an atmosphere where everyone can thrive!

Join us to experience the thrill of flag football, build lifelong friendships, and become part of a strong, supportive community. At our core, we are more than just a sports league—we are a family that values teamwork, respect, and empowerment. Come be a part of our vibrant and engaging flag football community!
